  1. After reading the other reviews, I still decided to order the OCTO Leather Travel Pouch for my Kindle 2. I really thought I would take one quick look at it and then send it back but to my surprise, I’m keeping it! I was able to merge three various sized wallets from my purse and put everything into this case! So, not only do I now have everything in one place, my purse is lighter to boot! My only real con to this Kindle case is that the super soft micro-fiber material only protects the BACK side of the Kindle so the only thing protecting the front side is the leather cover. I will be buying some self-adhesive felt to go on the inside cover of my case to help protect the front of my Kindle a bit more than what OCTO offers. Which is a shame considering the price…I shouldn’t have to do that but for the practicality and convenience the rest of the case gives me, at this point I’m willing to deal with it instead of waiting around for the next improved version.

In a nutshell, it’s a very handy travel case that I use in my everyday life and it works well for me. :)

  2. I had high hopes for this one, having bought several covers, from the standard Amazon to Strangedog and an Oberon but this one didn’t measure up. As previously noted, the quality of leather was poor for the price. Also, the bulk makes it difficult to fold back & read with one hand, as I often prefer to do. As a result, I returned the Octo (they were good about that) and for now alternate between the Strangedog–smooth brown leather that for $29.99 was a good deal but as he is usually sold out can be hard to get, and the Oberon (sky blue Hokusai wave), that is a beautifully crafted piece of work.

  3. I agree with another reviewer that the quality of the leather is quite poor and not worth the price tag,,BUT and its a BIG, BUT, I love this case.

I am a huge Kindle fan and never leave home without it. Now I truely take it every where cause it is literally connected to my wallet. this case is so roomy it even holds a spiral note book with ease. I have my credit cards, ID, check book, Kindle and a note book. it all zips up. I then put it into another Kindle product called the messenger bag. it is a perfect fit. I would buy this again just for the over all perfect product companion for the Kindle. it has made my life better so it is worth the price to me. thank you.

  4. I was pretty excited when I ordered the OCTO Leather Travel Pouch for my Kindle 2. The concept is great, the execution less so. First disappointment was the Leather itself. It’s not a very high quality. In fact at first I had to look hard to convince myself it was leather. The green stitching is wide and looks bad as well. While the section for the Kindle has a pad under it for protection there is no padding on the front. The only thing protecting the screen is the flimsy front piece of leather. To add insult to injury the item I received was clearly a returned item from someone else. The leather had marks and scratches on it and even the White Box it comes in had dirty finger prints on it, yuck. This would be ok for 30 or 40 dollars, but for 75 dollars I was expecting a higher level of quality than this product delivers. Good concept, someone else will perfect it I’m sure. Till then, I’ll wait.
