Rolling Stones – Cocksucker Blues (1969 and 1978 versions)

by on 2009/11/21

This song, written by Jagger/Richards, was about a teenage male prostitute. This video features the original 1969 version and a re-recording of the song from 1978. Lyrics: Well, I'm a lonesome schoolboy And I just came into town Yeah, I'm a lonesome schoolboy And I just came into town Well, I heard so much about London I decided to check it out Well, I wait in Leicester Square With a come-hither look in my eye Yeah, I'm leaning on Nelsons Column But all I do is talk to the lions Oh where can ...

I’m not even a big Stones collector/fan, but I was tempted to buy a bootleg of that same documentary about 18 years ago. I came across it at an underground record shop and the keeper was telling me how insane it was and that there was a scene with Keith shooting heroin into his eye or something crazy.

That’s crazy. I really want to see it.

I want to see the rare documentry Cocksucker Blues.
I heard it can legally only be shown if the director is present.

Nasty street dirty lyrics. Love to see the suits at Decca when they heard this! Servrs them right. The Stones came out of the 60’s broke. 80 million in record sales in the 60’s and they are broke. unreal. Not broke now though!

this is a true story…around 17 yrs ago my cousin and I opened a brand new sports blooper vhs tape to watch but when the tape started to play we were in for a real surprise…on the tape was the Rolling Stones Cocksucker Blues documentary. We were shocked. On the outside, the video had the sports blooper graphics and packaging. Nobody we knew taped over it because like I said it was brand new with the plastic wrapping. I wonder how much that tape would be worth…too bad my cousin lost it.

You’re right, byrnzie300. The Stones owed Decca one more record (single) before Decca would let them out of their recording contract. The Stones didn’t see things that way, but were given no choice. So Mick and Keith (none of the other Stones were present) recorded this little ditty for Decca. Decca couldn’t release it, or course, but the Stones had honored their part of the contract and had forced Decca to do the same. The End.

Old Main Drag by the Pogues is the best rent boy song.

If I’m not mistaken it was their last record for DECCA.
